    About Fula

The History of the Fula Language

Fula is spoken by over 65 million people in West Africa and Central Africa. With speakers in over 20 countries Fula has multiple regional dialects.  It is also known by different names including Fulani, Fulfulde, Pulaar, Pular and Peul. Fula can be written in the Arabic script or in the Latin script. Though there have also been several attempts to popularise a unique script designed specifically for depicting the Fula language.

As part of the Senegambian branch of the Niger-Congo language family Fula is closely related to the languages of Serer and Wolof. However, unlike most Senegambian languages Fula is not tonal. Fula is one of the most common languages in Africa, both as a first and second language. Despite this it is used relatively rarely for official purposes because speakers of the language are spread across a wide section of the continent throughout many countries.

    We Meet Tight Deadlines

We know how important deadlines are, so we work hard to meet even the tightest of deadlines.

We specialise in finding last minute interpreters, and in many instances, our translations take no longer than 48 hours to be returned. We have at times been able to provide same-day translations, and our linguists can provide sight-translations at appointments or in court.
